This is a non-profit site sponsored by the South-Western Ontario
chapter of the Disaster Recovery Information Exchange. Its Our purpose
is to help develop an on-line community of Business Continuity Planners
to share their experience and knowledge with each other, and to
promote collegiality and professionalism in business continuity
planning.
- Disaster
Recovery Information Exchange DRIE (Canada) was established
to become a primary source of information and education for contingency
planners across Canada.
- Disaster
Recovery Institute Canada was established to create a base of
common knowledge for the disaster recovery / business continuity
planning industry through education, assistance, and the development
of a resource base; to certify qualified individuals in the discipline;
and to promote the credibility and professionalism of certified
professionals.
- The Emergency
Preparedness for Industry and Commerce Council (EPICC) was established
with a mission to prepare British Columbia businesses and industries
to survive and recover from all types of disasters in order to enable
community-wide recovery from catastrophic disasters.
United States
- The
Business Continuity Planners Association (BCPA) is a non-profit,
mutual benefit association of business professionals responsible
for, or participating in, business recovery, crisis management,
emergency management, contingency planning, disaster preparedness
planning, or a related professional vocation.
- Business
Recovery Managers Association (US) is
a professional organization devoted to the advancement of the theory
and practice of business recovery planning, disaster recovery planning
and emergency management.
- The
Association of Sacramento Area Planners
is a non-profit organization promoting information exchange and
education on Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity related topics
and issues.

The Emergency Management Education Network (EMEN) is a distance
learning, resident, and workplace emergency management education,
training and consulting service provided via the Natural Sciences
Program, University of California Extension, Riverside.
International
- DRI
International DRI International (DRI) was founded in 1988 to
provide a base of common knowledge in contingency planning, a rapidly
growing industry.
- International
Disaster Recovery Association (IDRA) is a group originally comprised
of those having a special interest in the voice, data, image, and
sensory telecommunications aspects of Disaster Recovery Planning
(DRP), Contingency Planning and Business Continuation. This is in
its 11th year. A second IDRA special interest group (SIG) has developed
due to members interests and concentrates on security, terrorism,
employee safety and workplace violence.

Small Business Adminstration Disaster Assistance Office
The purpose of the SBA's Disaster Loan Program is to offer financial
assistance to those who are trying to rebuild their homes and businesses
in the aftermath of a disaster. By offering low-interest loans, the
SBA is committed to long-term recovery efforts.

Exchange (DRIE).

institutions and businesses. Produced by Emergency Preparedness Canada,
this booklet provides a brief introduction to the concept of essential
records and gives basic guidelines on establishing an essential records
program within the context of emergency preparedness and business
resumption planning.
